Freight Forward Event Registration Terms


Australian Solar Energy Society Limited trading as Smart Energy Council (ABN 32 006 824 148) (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, ‘Smart Energy Council’, or ‘Freight Forward’) is the organiser of Freight Forward (Event). These Ticketing Terms outline the terms upon which you may attend the Event.

1.Attendance at the Event

In order to attend the Event, you must be:

(a) 18 years of age or older; and
(b) a registered guest for the Event.

Smart Energy Council and its employees and volunteers, and the organisers and volunteers of Freight Forward (Representatives), reserve the right, without any liability, to refuse admission to, or to eject you from the Event, in their absolute discretion, including, but not limited to, for failure to comply with these terms or if in their opinion you represent a security risk, nuisance or annoyance to the running of the Event.

You agree to comply with all reasonable instructions issued by Freight Forward and its Representatives at the Event.

2. Event alterations

Freight Forward reserves the right to change the time, date and place of the Event, in its absolute discretion.

3.Registration and transfers

Registration may, with the consent of Freight Forward, be transferred to another person. This transfer needs to be facilitated by the Freight Forward via a transfer of the registration.

4.Parliament House - Conditions of Entry

This Event is held at Australian Parliament House. Entry is subject to compliance with all Parliament House security, safety and access requirements. By attending the Event, you acknowledge and agree that:

(a) visitors must go through security screening and inspection of personal possessions.

(b) prohibited or offensive implements, drugs, or other substances are not permitted and must be surrendered to the Parliamentary Security Service Officer.

(c) you must comply with any reasonable directions given by a Parliamentary Security Service Officer or member of the Australian Federal Police.

(d) facial identification may be required upon request by a Parliamentary Security Service Officer or member of the Australian Federal Police before entry.

(e) demonstrations or protests are not permitted within the parliamentary precinct. The Australian Parliament has a Demonstration Policy with which all visitors must comply.

(f) access to private areas must be accompanied and must present appropriate photo identification.

5.Registration

If requested by Freight Forward or its Representatives, you must provide photo identification to register on the day of the Event.

Freight Forward  and its Representatives reserve the right to refuse you entry if you do not have photo identification.

6.Recordings release

You consent to us (or someone on our behalf):

(a) taking photographs, and making audio and video recordings of you at the Event (Recordings); and

(b) sharing the Recordings to promote the Event in any manner we see fit. You understand and agree that we own all rights (including copyright and other intellectual property rights) to the Recordings.

You understand that:

(a) we are under no obligation to use, or pay you for, our use of the Recordings; and

(b) you will have no right of approval, no claim for compensation, and no claim (including, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation or right of publicity), arising out of, directly or indirectly, from the use and publication of the Recordings. 

7.Disclaimer and release

Attendance and participation in the Event is at your own risk.

In consideration for your participation in the Event, you agree to release and forever discharge Freight Forward and its Representatives, jointly and severally, from any and all actions, causes of actions, claims and demands for, upon or by reason of damage, loss, death or injury, which may be sustained as a result of your participation in the Event.

8.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Freight Forward and its Representatives will not be liable for personal injury or death, property damage, or any other loss (including, but not limited to, liability for negligence, breach of these terms or any other agreement), damage, cost or expense (including, without limitation, loss of profits, business reputation, loss of information, indirect, special, punitive or consequential loss or damage) that you may incur or suffer arising out of or in connection with the Event.

9.Force Majeure

If a Force Majeure Event occurs, the affected party must notify the other party and the obligations of the party will be suspended to the extent that they are affected by the relevant Force Majeure Event until that Force Majeure Event has ceased.

In this clause, “Force Majeure Event” means any act, event or cause including earthquakes, cyclones, floods, fires, lightening, storms, epidemics, pandemics or other acts of God, strikes or industrial disputes, riots, terrorist acts, civil disturbances, breakages of machinery, or industrial conditions, or arising out of any other unexpected and exceptional cause, delays in transportation, or governmental or court ordered laws, dispositions, regulations, requirements, orders or actions (including any public health orders or directions), which:
(a) directly or indirectly results in a party being prevented from or delayed in performing any of its obligations under this agreement; and
(b) is beyond the reasonable control of that party.

10.General

Freight Forward may amend these terms from time to time and you will be subject to the terms in force at the time Freight Forward registers you for the Event.

If a court determines that any provision of these terms is invalid or not enforceable, that provision shall be read down or severed to the extent of the invalidity or unenforceability only, without affecting the remaining provisions of these terms.

These terms are governed by and are to be construed in accordance with the laws of Australian Capital Territory.
